Taking torque tests straight onto the production floor

The Vortex-xt motorised torque testing system provides constant rotational speed to enable accurate, repeatable, of closure torque measurement. Top-loading allows push and turn CRCs to be tested and the convenient touch screen facilitates fast and efficient testing throughput.

Top loading allows the push force on the CRC to be set to then measure the torqueFor TE closures, Vortex has the sensitivity to detect:
  •  The applied torque as the closure is tightened
  •  The strip torque as the closure is overtightened
  •  The release (peak) torque as the first seal is overcome
  •  The slip and bridge torque where the tamper-evident band separates from the screw closure.

For CRCs, masses are added to the top-load carrier to apply a constant down force while rotating the closure and measuring the release torque.

Tests are run at the touch of an icon from the favourites screenThis standalone system requires no PC. Five 'favourite' frequently used torque tests can be easily accessed for fast test initiation. Minimal training is needed with the touch screen's simple menu selection interface. Only two clicks on the touch screen interface are needed to start making routine torque measurements.
Torque measurement and pass or fail criteria are clearly displayedEasily and swiftly check sample performance through colour-coded pass/fail indicators. Torque test measurement data is either shown graphically on the large, clear display for 'live' test observation, or in tabulated form, in order to make comparisons between tests.
Output formatted reports easilyWhen further evaluation of results is required, a range of calculations are available to help pinpoint areas of interest. Standard and customisable report templates enable easy documentation creation, which can be stored and exported to Microsoft Excel® and SPC packages.

Write programs with APB and run them from the touch screenThe Vortex-xt adapts to suit your changing needs, enabling limitless test programs to be created and stored on the system. More complex procedures can be programmed, using a range of calculations available for data interrogation. Restricted access levels separate administrative tasks from normal everyday test use, preventing accidental damage to programs and important test data.
